✨Art Journaling & taking inspired action ✨

This morning during my meditation, I realized how much I missed doing my art journaling.

Weirdly I haven’t done it for months and I don’t know why. I loved how it helped me explore my inner world and creative growth.

I also used to head up workshops for others to explore this wonderful creative process too.

Now a few hours on, I have BIG plans for 2022!

Each component has been created by hand from air dried clay. They are then painted with acrylic paints and sealed with varnish.

🟠 Disintegration Part 1 🟠

The colour inspiration
came from iron ore (featuring my love of geology) and the composition has evolved over the months during “lock down”.

I wanted something that was more organic in texture, almost biological.

Gallery wrapped canvas dimensions: 50cm (w) x 20cm (h) x 2cm (d)

Colours: Acrylic paints of burnt sienna, mars black, raw umber, Paynes grey and white.

Signed and dated: On the back.

Finish: Edges painted white and surfaces covered in 2 layers of UV protect varnish matt finish. This artwork is ready to hang.

💜Mojave Turquoise💙

After curating some older pieces, I thought it would be a great opportunity to revisit them with fresh videos and photos.

The inspiration for this beautiful textured artwork, came from the unusual colours found in Mojave Turquoise.

There is only one source for this particular type of Turquoise, namely the Kingman mine in Arizona.

Blue Kingman Turquoise is dyed purple and mixed back with normal blue turquoise stones. It then goes through a Bronze fusion process that creates a shiny bronze colour to the matrix.

Polished stones are set in necklaces, bracelets, rings, etc.

I have used similar colours (using acrylic paints) found in these gorgeous stones and then added 24ct gold leaf for the finishing touch!
